Changing Seasons

Ecclesiastes 3:1 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

Change is in the air. The year 2022 is drawing to a close and we are planning and moving quickly towards 2023! Orientation Day has been and gone and we have only a handful of days left in the school year. For some of us this change of season is exciting, while for others they may experience mixed emotions.

As part of our regular Get Togethers (GTs) we pray the Primary School prayer together (many classes will pray this daily). Last week, as we looked towards Orientation Day and changing classes, we took a moment in our Middle and Senior Primary GT to look closely at some of the words in the second part of the prayer:

I am a Child of God.

I have a Strong Heart and a Strong Mind

It’s who I am.

No one can take it from me.

I’m not what I do.

I am not what I have.

I am not what people say about me.

I don’t have to worry.

I can be calm and peaceful.

I can feel safe.

I can trust my friend Jesus and share his love with the world.

We use these words as a lens to look at a faithful response to changing seasons in our life: God is faithful and unchanging; he will never leave us and is working everything together for our good. We can draw on his strength to be calm and peaceful in contemplating new seasons, know that we can trust his provision for our every need.

May the words of the Primary prayer encourage you as you look toward the new season of 2023. We are committed to partnering with you in the learning and development of your children and God is faithfully at work, true to his promises.

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".
