Child Safety

Mount Evelyn Christian School (MECS) is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. This will be the primary focus of our care and decision-making.

MECS has zero-tolerance for child abuse.

MECS is committed to providing a child-safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Particular attention will be paid to the cultural safety of Aboriginal children and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, as well as the safety of children with a disability.

Every person involved in MECS has a responsibility to understand the important and specific role he/she plays individually and collectively to ensure that the wellbeing and safety of all children and young people are at the forefront of all they do and every decision they make.

MECS is committed to making sure that all our students are safe. We completely reject any action or behaviour that results in the abuse of a child who is part of our community. As image-bearers of God, we want every student to flourish in all aspects of their life and for all children to feel loved and respected. As we work in partnership together, this responsibility and commitment need to be owned by all of us. Thank you for joining us, and supporting us in this important task.
