We currently have 2 ongoing positions available for Secondary Teachers, commencing January 2021.

Position 1 Full Time Middle School Teacher

Position 2 (0.50 FTE) Part Time MS & SS Teacher

Primary Teacher 'Butterfly Centre'

We have a position available for a passionate Christian Educator to join our Student Support team. This is a .40 Primary Teacher position in our Butterfly Centre, beginning January 2021.

You will join our innovative team to deliver an inclusive, and flexible learning program in the alternative setting of the Butterfly Centre for students primarily in the extensive category of disability. Ideally you will have experience or qualifications working in this field with an understanding and knowledge of ASD, Trauma, and working with students with extensive disabilities.

Student Support Teacher/s

We are seeking passionate and innovative Student Support teacher/s commencing January 2021. Ideally this is one .80 position with .40 in Middle Primary and .40 in Junior Primary. Consideration will be given to the right applicants for the role to be split into two .40 positions.

You will join our extensive Student Support team to deliver an inclusive and vibrant program for students with disabilities. Your experience, qualifications and commitment to see students with disabilities flourish will be highly regarded.

Some key selection criteria include:

  1. Identify and support students with a disability, specifically in the JP/MP level.
  2. Liaise with cluster teachers to plan effective transition each year for students requiring support.
  3. Support the development of an inclusive environment that meets the needs of individual students both accessing mainstream classroom and withdrawal, as required.
  4. Plan and oversee Learning Plans for students with adjustments, as needed.
  5. Generate, track and update Student Learning Records.

Certificate IV in Education Support - Student Placement

MECS provides a limited number of student placement positions for those completing their Certificate IV in Education Support. Placements can be in the Primary or Secondary school. People completing their Education Support student placement at MECS will be provided with support to complete assignments set by their course provider. In addition to this, placement students will be allocated to a variety of educational settings within the school at the direction of the Education Support Coordinators.

Due to the high demand for placement positions, applicants for student placement positions are required submit a written application as per below. Applicants will then be invited to a short interview to ensure their suitably for the MECS workplace.
